It was reported that the rowing and canoeing game of 12th Hunan Provincial Sports Meeting was closed in the Aquatic Sports Center of Zixing city. 0ver 300 athletes of 24 delegations from 12 cities and autonomous prefectures fought tightly for more than 60 gold medals in the 7-day game. Finally, Chenzhou delegation won 20 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 5 bronze medals, ranking the first place of gold medal list and scoreboard.

It was the third consecutive times for Zixing city to hold the rowing and canoeing game of Hunan Provincial Sports Meeting from 2006. Thanks to the favorable climatic, geographical and human conditions, Chenzhou delegation broke a historic record in this game. The total quantity of gold medals was much higher than the former two games 6 and 10 ones. Liao Wenjie, He Xinghui, Yuanzhan, Zhang Pujiang, Wang Zhanyan and Tang Fei (female) who won 3 gold medals individually were hopeful to be enrolled into the professional Hunan provincial team.

Aquatic Sports Center of Zixing city was located in Dongjiangwan landscape where is with beautiful scenery and favorable rowing and canoeing condition. This sports center was named as “sports reserve talents base of Hunan rowing and canoeing game”. Both Chenzhou and Zixing governments paid great attention on the development of the base and placed great investment on improving its condition to ensure it to be the powerful support for the cultivation of sports talents of Hunan province.

Every sporting period, over 40 team members would attend the professional training for rowing and canoeing. More than 20 high quality talents trained by the base were enrolled into Hunan provincial rowing and canoeing team in recent years.
